Getting Started


Account Setup

  1. From the main menu, choose Account Setup.
  2. If you have a working internet connection, the client will contact the server and request a valid account number.
  3. If the account number is zero, you may need to configure your router to allow the game to communicate.
  4. Some players may need to run the game in administrator mode.

Note: All game data is stored in the Xenimus folder, not the system registry. To uninstall, simply delete the folder.

  1. Enter a password and email address.
  2. The email is only used for password recovery and account ownership verification.
  3. It is never shared or sold.

Character Creation

  1. From the main menu, select Create Character.
  2. Choose your path (Light or Dark), which determines your racial options.
  3. Select a race, which determines available classes.
  4. Select a class:
  5. Important stats appear in green.
  6. Very important stats will be glowing.
  7. Some stats have minimum or maximum starting values.
  8. Customize:
  9. Head style, hair color, or skin tone (depending on race).
  10. These can be changed later during gameplay.
  11. Choose a character name:
  12. Inappropriate or offensive names will be renamed by the developer at their discretion.

Starting Out

  • Learn to bind keys early.
  • Press P (Player Information) → Keys.
  • Select a key on the left.
  • Change the key with Set Key or change the function with options on the right.
  • Some functions (like basic attacking) cannot be rebound.

  • Review all default keys.

  • Try different view modes (top-down or third person).
  • Take note of the Stop Action key, which cancels actions and spells.

Quests & Leveling

  • Press L to open the Quest Log.
  • Quests are available from NPCs in town, though some are hidden (shrines, treasure chests, etc.).

The Great Quest

  • Available near maximum level.
  • Obtained from the King or High Lord.
  • Designed for new players to balance against established players.
  • Rewards are based on item wealth (a hidden value).
  • Items loaned from other players count toward wealth.
  • Sell unneeded quest rewards immediately to reduce impact on wealth.
  • Not available on new servers where player wealth is already balanced.

Player Etiquette

  • Account Security
  • Never give out your account information.
  • Never loan gear or let others "see" items.
  • Do not buy or sell accounts or items for real money.

  • Hacking

  • The developer may investigate clear hacking via IP scans.
  • Ultimately, security is the player’s responsibility.

  • PVP

  • PvP is core to the game.
  • However, excessive targeting of a single player counts as harassment and may lead to temporary bans.

  • Behavior

  • Trash talk is tolerated.
  • Racism, sexual harassment, or using real-life personal information against someone is not tolerated.
  • Harassment may result in disciplinary action.
